History

The name "Mullassery" is derived from "Mullai" (a symbol of prosperity) and "Cheri" (meaning village). This name perfectly reflects the prosperous, agricultural heritage of this region. Characterized by its vast agricultural lands, this Block Panchayat area has historically borne witness to numerous legends and significant events. It was originally part of the ancient Kingdom of Cochin and later came under the rule of the Zamorin of Calicut.

The Mullassery Block Panchayat comprises four Grama Panchayats:

  • Elavally

  • Pavaratty

  • Mullassery

  • Venkitangu

This Citizen's Charter outlines the administrative, developmental, welfare, and regulatory services available to the public. These services are delivered through the various institutions and officials transferred to the Mullassery Block Panchayat across these four panchayats. It also details the conditions, timeframes, and designated authorities for submitting applications to avail of these services.
